We're committed to working hard to make sure OpenPhone creates value for you and your business. If you decide to take your phone number elsewhere, we will help you with the process of porting it out. 

Please note that number porting is available to paid customers of OpenPhone. If you're on a free trial of the service, this option won't be available to you.

Here are the steps for initiating a port of your OpenPhone number:

  1. Notify OpenPhone support team - text or call us from within the OpenPhone app (855 746 6304) or email [email protected]
  2. Contact the carrier to which you’d like to port your number. Most carriers require you to fill out a Letter of Authorization (LOA)
  3. We will email you the information about your phone number that will be needed by your new carrier 
  4. Your new carrier will inform you of your port away date. On the port away date your phone number will be ported from OpenPhone to your new carrier 

This process can take from 1 day to 2 weeks, depending on the carrier you're porting your number to.
