If you run into issues receiving OpenPhone calls, these troubleshooting tips will help.

1. Push Notifications - ON

Check that OpenPhone has permission to send you push notifications.

On iOS:

  • Open "Settings"
  • Find OpenPhone in your list of apps
  • Make sure Notifications are ON

On Android:

  • Go to Settings via the gear wheel icon ⚙️
  • Select Apps
  • Select the gear wheel icon ⚙️
  • Select App permissions
  • Select Notifications
  • Make sure Notifications are ON

2. Your OpenPhone subscription is Active

If you have billing issues and your subscription is expired, you won't be able to use your service.

Tap on your Account inside the OpenPhone app, then Subscription and make sure the expiry date is in the future.

3. You're not on "Do Not Disturb"

Please check your phone's DnD setting as well as OpenPhone's DnD setting.

Tap on your Account page -> Do Not Disturb

4. You're not outside of your Business Hours

Check your OpenPhone business hours to make sure you're calling during those hours. Calls outside of business hours go directly to voicemail.

Tap on your Account page -> tap on your OpenPhone number -> Business Hours

5. You're not forwarding calls to an international number

Verify that you're not forwarding calls to a non-US / non-Canadian number.

Tap on your Account page -> tap on your OpenPhone number -> Forwarding

If you're forwarding calls to a US / Canadian number, they will be redirected to that number rather than right through the OpenPhone app.

6. You're not on carrier calling with an international number linked (iOS only)

If you're an iOS user, verify that you're not on carrier calling with an international phone number linked.

Tap on your Account page -> Preferences -> Carrier Calling
