If you're experiencing issues receiving phone calls, here are a few things you can check that may be preventing you from receiving calls to your OpenPhone number.

Ensure push notifications are on

Check that OpenPhone has permission to send you push notifications.

On iOS:

  • Open "Settings"

  • Find OpenPhone in your list of apps

  • Make sure Notifications are ON

On Android:

  • Go to "Settings" via the gear wheel icon ⚙️

  • Select "Apps"

  • Select the gear wheel icon ⚙️

  • Select "App permissions"

  • Select **"**Notifications"

  • Make sure Notifications are ON


Your OpenPhone subscription is active

If you have billing issues and your subscription is expired, you won't be able to use your service.

How to check you have an active OpenPhone subscription on the web or Mac app:

Click ⚙️ "Settings". Under "Workspace", select "Billing & credits" to verify you have an active subscription.

How to check you have an active OpenPhone subscription on the iOS or Android app: Launch the mobile app. Then click your profile icon on the top left corner. Tap ⚙️ "Settings". Select "Subscription" (if the next billing date shows, you have an active subscription).


You're not on "Do Not disturb"

If you're not receiving calls from your phone, check your phone's "Do not disturb" setting.

Click your profile icon in OpenPhone to ensure you don't have "Do not disturb" on within the app (this applies whether you're accessing OpenPhone from your computer or a device).


Ensure the call came during your business hours

If a call comes in outside of your business hours, it will be automatically directed to voicemail. You may want to review the business hours you currently have set to ensure this isn't the cause of the problem.

How to check your business hours on the web or Mac app:

Under "Inboxes", hover over the phone number you wish to have business hours for and select "..." to the right of that number. Click "Settings" from the popup menu.

You can also get to these settings by clicking "Settings" from the top left corner menu and choosing "Phone Numbers" under "Workspace".

Scroll down to “Business Hours” in the phone number settings to review and update your business hours.

How to check your business hours on the iOS or Android app:

Launch the OpenPhone mobile app. Select your picture icon at the top left of the screen. Then tap "Manage" next to "Your numbers".

Tap on the number you'd like to review the business hours for. Then tap on "Business Hours". If it's currently "On", click "On" to check your business hours.


The number is not blocked

Verify the number you're trying to receive calls from wasn't blocked accidentally. On the OpenPhone web or Mac app, click ⚙️ "Settings". Then select "Blocklist" to check.
