If you want to use your existing phone number on OpenPhone and want to see if we can port it, you're at the right place.
First of all, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) mandates that providers allow consumers to switch to other providers. The FCC guide to porting is here.
This means that most likely we can port your phone number from your current carrier (whether landline, wireless or Internet provider)
Here are some recommendations that might help:
1 - OpenPhone supports local US, Canadian, and North American toll-free numbers. We won't be able to port in numbers from other countries at this time.
2 - If you're the owner of the phone number, we'll need to e-sign an authorization form to allow the port. If you're not the owner of the phone number, you'll need to ask for their authorization. They'll have to e-sign the authorization form.
3 - Send us the phone number you want to port over to [email protected] and we'll verify its status for you.
