Did you ever respond to a call from a customer or prospect and then realize they need to talk to someone else on your team? Or a totally different department in your company?

You can easily transfer calls with OpenPhone. We go over exactly how this works below, read on.

How to transfer calls on the web or mac app

1. Answer an incoming OpenPhone call

2. Click on the Transfer button 🔁

3. Type the name or the phone number of the person you want to transfer the call to. This will disconnect the call from your end and connect the caller with the person you've transferred them to.

How to transfer calls on the iOS app

1. Answer an incoming OpenPhone call

2. Tap on the Transfer button 🔁

3. Here you have 3 options:

  • Select the team member you'd like to transfer the call to (bonus: you see their status and availability so you only transfer the call to a colleague who's actually available to take it!)

  • Search and tap on the contact in your address book who should take the call

  • Type the phone number you'd like to transfer the call to

This will disconnect the call from your end and connect the caller with the person you've transferred them to.

What you should know about call transfer on OpenPhone

  • Call transfer is currently available on incoming calls, not outgoing.

  • Call transfer is offered to all users on the Premium plan. If you're on the Standard plan and want to upgrade, you can do so here.
